The IOSA Programme is an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognised quality audit principles and is designed so that audits are conducted in a standardised and consistent manner.
In addition, the introduction of audit sharing is intended to significantly reduce the number of overlapping audits with corresponding cost savings.
The IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPs) are contained in the IOSA Standards Manual (ISM).
Details of how IOSA audits will be conducted, audit reports shared and the IOSA Programme managed are contained in the IOSA Programme Manual (IPM).
IATA is the official custodian of the IOSA Registry which contains a list of all the operators who have met the IOSA standard together with a copy of the IOSA audit report (IAR).
The implementation of the IATA Standard Safety Assessment is aimed at operators of smaller aircraft that do not qualify for the IOSA programme.
The programme aims to replicate the advances in operational safety and efficiency made by the IOSA programme for the operators of smaller aircraft.
